Q: What is your derby name and number? What’s the backstory?
A: “Pyromancer 910.” My kids named me because I have always been mesmerized by fire and been a bit of a pyro. My daughter said my name should be Pyro and my son quickly followed up with Pyromancer since they bring the fire!
Q: What do you do when you’re not at roller derby practice?
A: When I’m not at practice, I enjoy being with my children and friends.
Q: When and why did you start derby?
A: I started derby in October 2023. I had looked into it for years, but always thought I had to already be an advanced skater. Thankfully, I know a lady that used to play with South Side and she convinced me otherwise.
Q: Do you have any advice for new skaters?
A: Keep trying! Life is too short to be scared! If you are ever in doubt of your ability, the women at South Side have the cure, the nicest and most badass women ever!
