WHAT IS THE BACKSTORY ON YOUR DERBY NAME?
There’s a character in the anime Dragon Ball named Launch. She has two personalities: one where she’s quiet, shy, and overly nice and the other she’s a gun-wielding, loud, foul-mouthed, aggressive badass. I felt like that’s similar to me when I’m on and off my skates. Off skates, I’m a bit of an introvert. But when I play roller derby, I’m a completely different person. I’m loud, brutal, and a force to be reckoned with.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE NOT AT ROLLER DERBY PRACTICE?
When I’m not skating, I like to hang out with my husband and daughter, draw, and play games.

WHEN & WHY DID YOU START DERBY?
I started roller derby in January 2022. My mom bought me a pair of skates for Christmas on a whim. I signed up for beginner classes to learn proper technique. A couple months later I was scrimmaging

ADVICE TO NEW SKATERS
1.) Don’t be intimidated. New derby girls always have imposter syndrome, but just know that we all started as beginners.

2.) Try to skate outdoors to build up your endurance. It’ll help you on the track in the long run.

3.) Don’t give up! We are a family and we take pride in the progress each and every girl makes. These are some of the most supportive girls you will ever find.
